evaluation - final production day - 8/2/17

On this day we did our last run through and a little while after we did our final shoot with a live audience so we could get honest feed back for our show. From how it went, I think it went very well as we didn't have a lot of time to rehearse and even when we did there was a lot of problems, either people weren't in or some people who were filling in didn't make much effort that made it more harder for us and it made the process even longer.




what went well even before the production of the show was the process of pre planning, as we split the task 1 tasks so we could all make an effort and get things done faster. What made it even better is that all knew what we were doing, so it speeded things up even more. after task 1 was done, we shared everything on Google drive so we were all able to get all the work and post it on our blogs.  we decided what we were going to be doing for the final product and I was given the role of lighting, so I had to know all the timings of when I should turn them off, dim them and even bring them back up. 


after all that, and went it came down to the production as a group we had more negatives than positives throughout the whole thing even though we were the ones who had everything ready and were more organised when it came to preproduction. we were missing a lot of things such as our live performers as we were going to have them in our show, they only came in for about two rehearsals and the for the final thing, which were in charge by two members of the group. so without them there we had to improvise and fill in the gap with those who filled in for us.


even though the final thing went well, it was a good and bad experience as we learnt different things about the multi-cam world and how hard it actually in a studio.  we also were taught how the visual mixer works and how it operated within the multi-cam and how it helps with the smooth running of an multi-cam production

31/1/17

today we had another run through of 'we are London' as always with our group there were issues but this one was a lot better than yesterdays by far. yet it took ages top set up as people weren't there, didn't help to set up or even people from the other group didn't want to help set up which then made things even longer, and then we were trying to figure out what was going on so we could get started. what it needed to make it more successful was, people need to be on time to do their job, if they were late we cant help that but people fully not turning up and not even telling us was a big big issues for the group. what i discovered when doing a run through was that it was so much stress that wasn't even necessary and i also found that as much as we needed the rehearsals, it was such a waste of time, nothing went to plan.

30/1/17

Today was supposed to be social challenges day to perform there production but as Danielle wasn't in today, tom took over and we had the choice whether we wanted to watch a film or have a run though of one of the shows and we decided to have a run through of 'we are London' because we haven't had enough run through's of our show and it was complete shambles, the time it took to set up, me, Tim, dianni, veera and zain were all ready and knew what we were doing but there were some difficulties, meaning some of our members were late but that was okay because we could work around that and they eventually came in and got their job done. However, people were complaining, finding it difficult with the script and not putting effort into the run through, so half way through we started the show again and then it messed up again so we just carried on and then finished.

24/1/17

At the beginning social challenge ended up setting up for their production and i ended up being a guest as usual for there game show, as for the games all are stuff was pre recorded so we did not have to do it again.

Half way through the lesson we swapped over and i took my role of lighting operator  and we had a guest come in to be on our show, the first thing i did was making sure the lights were how we wanted them ,  the only problem we had was that the sound person was very late with the sounds, Other than that some other things need to be fixed up but other than we should be ready for next week. Also we will set up the instrumentals for the guest to rap or sing over.

23/1/17

today was a change of plan as we did change our rehearsal days last week but we ended up rehearsing for our group today because we felt like that we haven't had any rehearsal time and social challenge have a lot of run through's  compared to us. we had a lot of stuff that got in the way of our rehearsal time but luckily we were able to have a run through, I personally think it went well for our first go, the acting did go on a bit and did get a bit boring, because they didn't really know when the breaks were but they knew what the subject they were meant to be talking about, but there was a time where they did go for an ad break.

17/1/17

we did another run through of social challenge and this one went really well, even though things were a bit slow in the beginning but after that everything went to plan for them, even with some adjustments that they need, like timing, the lights, who's doing what and communicating better. for me as one of their contestants on the show, it went well, but was confused on some things like went the lights went off for a bit and their last part of the show could have been organised better for the 'dub challenge' with having old photos of ourselves and a current one, it could have been done better.

Monday was pretty much a failure, we didn't get to rehearse or anything, we had all the equipment and everything was set up but the people in our group stopped production because they either wasn't in or they were late so we wasn't able to do anything but go over what we were doing individually, like me, dianni and tim, we were talking to each other and co-ordinating with each other on our job roles.

Today we did another run through of "Social Challenge".

They were more prepared this week, providing audio for their show and having the correct documents on set. The run through went well. even though it took them awhile to get started and having some difficulties with the lights and the sound that they were using.

4/1/17

Today we solidified our production roles and familiarised ourselves with the software, Reco Live. We did this in a classroom as the TV studio was unavailable. We also spent the time updating our blogs and ensuring that all the relevant information was on there.

3/1/17

Today we did a run through of "Social Challenge". Some of us from the other team, "We are London", participated as contestants on their gameshow.

Social Challenge ran into a few issues. They were unprepared and didn't bring the correct documents such as the shooting script, resulting in their camera operators being unsure of what to do, what shots to film and when to cut between different cameras.

Today our group did a practise on our production of our we are London. we practised our given roles and discussed what days we will be shooting which will be every Monday for three weeks. we also got taught how the software works on the ipads by Tom and Tyler

6/12/16

Today we did a script table. Four other students took the roles to read and play the role of the guests, host and narrator. Guest 1 was read by Tim, guest two was veers, host was Daisy and narrator Dimitar. From reading out the script we fixed the spelling mistakes and we also added a break after the interview to give the guest time to prepare and perform.


From January Monday's and Tuesday's we will be in the TV studio to practice shooting on Mondays group 1 will have the to studio and on Tuesday group two will have the studio to shoot and on Wednesdays we will be updating our blogs and if get the studio on Wednesday we will run through both groups show.

We have planned to finish off all task by today including the script, We will be shooting our pre recorded clips this week ready for when we come back next term.

Today we still wasn't able to film because the cameras are still down and will be for months. Some of the our ipads are having problems and some didn't have them, so we had to use laptops. For recording the multi cam show, Danielle is trying to get an app called Reco Live that we can use on the ipads as that's our only source of getting this recorded.

2/11/16

We went back into the studio as a class so we could have another run through in our groups of how to use the equipment, but there was a technical difficulty which Tom had to fix so we couldn't use any of the equipment.

1/11/16

These videos below show us playing around with the equipment before we knew anything about them, me and Timi wanted to know how it looks on the screen when you're filming the action. A little while are we were looking at the equipment, Tom came in and took us six at a time in small groups to go into the control room and told us what is what and how it works and then after he showed every about the control room, he then told us about the cameras on the floor and what is what on them.


After that Danielle then split the class in half and had a quick run through of how to use the equipment. And after like 15mins of acting, we had a run through again and then we switched so the group that was acting (me) then had a chance to either go in the control room or be on the floor and work the cameras. This gave us an idea of we how we want our show to look and who would be doing what as they we good at might stay as that role.
